Dartulator — professional darts scoring, statistics and checkout assistant for Android

About Dartulator

Dartulator is a professional darts companion for Android. It helps players keep score, track long-term statistics and averages, and calculate finishing combinations through a built-in checkout assistant. The application is designed to work fully offline and does not require an account to use its core features.

Dartulator is a scoring and training tool. It does not offer gambling, betting, wagering or real-money gaming of any kind.

Information we handle

Dartulator handles only the information you enter or generate while using the application. This typically includes:

  • Player names you create
  • Match history and results
  • Statistics such as averages, checkouts and finishes
  • Checkout history and saved combinations
  • Application settings, themes and language preferences
  • Notification and reminder preferences
  • Local backup files you create

This information stays on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party unless you explicitly choose a feature that requires data transfer.

How your data is stored

All application data is stored locally on your Android device using the operating system's private application storage. You remain in full control of this data and can delete, reset or export it at any time from within the application or by uninstalling it.

Permissions

Dartulator only requests the Android permissions it needs to provide a specific feature. Each permission is described below.

Microphone

  • Purpose: to enter your score by voice through the optional voice scoring feature.
  • When it is requested: the first time you start voice scoring.
  • How to disable it: Android Settings › Apps › Dartulator › Permissions › Microphone.

Notifications

  • Purpose: to display optional reminders and in-app notifications.
  • When it is requested: when you enable a feature that uses notifications, or on first launch on Android 13 and later.
  • How to disable it: Android Settings › Apps › Dartulator › Notifications.

Storage / Files

  • Purpose: to import or export backup files to a location of your choice.
  • When it is requested: when you use the import or export feature. Dartulator uses the Android system file picker and only accesses the specific files you select.
  • How to disable it: Android Settings › Apps › Dartulator › Permissions.

Voice input

Voice scoring is optional. The microphone is only activated when you explicitly start a voice scoring session and is turned off as soon as you stop using it. Dartulator does not record continuously, does not listen in the background and does not store audio recordings.

Voice recognition is handled by Android's on-device speech services where available. Only the recognised score text is used by the application.

Notifications

Notifications are entirely optional. You can enable or disable them at any time from within the application or from the Android system settings. Notifications are used only for reminders and application-related updates that you have opted into.

Import and export

Dartulator lets you export your data to a backup file and import it back later. These files are written to a location that you choose through the Android file picker and remain entirely under your control. The developer has no access to exported files.

Backups

Backups are currently local only. Backup files are stored on your device or on any storage location you select. If cloud backup is introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated before that feature is released so that you can review how it works before choosing to use it.

Network usage

Dartulator is designed to work fully offline. All core features — scoring, statistics and the checkout assistant — function without an internet connection. An internet connection may only be involved through Google Play for installing or updating the application, or for optional online features that may be added in future versions.

Accounts

Dartulator does not require you to register or sign in to use its core features. Most functionality is available immediately after installation, without an account.

Wear OS

Future versions of Dartulator may include support for Wear OS smartwatches. When this support is added, synchronisation will be limited to the gameplay information required for score input and match progression, such as the current score, remaining points and turn state.

Communication takes place only between your own paired devices through the standard Android and Wear OS communication channels. No gameplay data is sent to the developer or to third parties as part of Wear OS synchronisation.

Analytics

Dartulator does not currently use analytics or user tracking technologies. If analytics are introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated before that version is released and any such analytics will be described here.

Advertising

The current version of Dartulator contains no advertisements, no advertising SDKs and no personalised advertising of any kind. If advertising is introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated before that version is released.

In-app purchases

The current version contains no paid subscriptions and no in-app purchases. If premium features are introduced in the future, they will be clearly presented within the application and this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

Data sharing

  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We do not rent personal data.
  • We do not share personal data with advertisers.
  • We do not build advertising profiles about you.
  • We do not transfer your data to third parties for their own marketing or profiling purposes.

Google Play Services

Because Dartulator is distributed through the Google Play Store, Android and Google Play Services may process limited technical information necessary to install, update or deliver the application to your device. This processing is performed by Google and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Dartulator itself does not receive personal identifiers from these processes.

Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the information handled by the application. Because Dartulator stores its data locally on your device, the security of that data primarily depends on the security of the device itself — for example your screen lock, device encryption and the accounts used on the device.

You can delete application data at any time from within Dartulator or from the Android application settings, and uninstalling the application removes all locally stored data. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You remain in control of your information at all times. You can:

  • Export your data as a backup file
  • Delete individual players, matches or statistics from within the application
  • Clear all local application data from Android settings
  • Uninstall Dartulator to remove all locally stored data from your device
  • Contact the developer with any privacy question or request

Children

Dartulator is suitable for users of all ages. The application does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes that personal information has been provided unintentionally, they may contact us so that we can review the situation and delete the information where appropriate.

Policy updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated as Dartulator evolves. The latest version will always be published on this website, together with the date of the most recent update shown at the top of this page.
